Business and Politics

Who is next to go?

Brandon Perreira resigned as NST Group EIC.
Datuk Seri Kalimullah Hassan resigned as NST Deputy Chairman.
Datuk Azlan Hashim replaced as Chairman of Proton.
Datuk Steven Tan resigned as TheStar Executive Deputy Chairman.

It seems like there are quite a few changes in management among GLCs these days.

I cannot help but wonder when Hishamuddin Aun and Munir Majid will be replaced. Will they?

Institut Jantung Negara

Bloggers and politicians have consistently in one voice criticise the proposed 51% takeover of IJN. Allow me to quote The Star:

Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Sahan, the first chairman of IJN, said he was “very happy” over Sime Darby’s decision.

Not only is he the happy one, I dare say. The blogosphere especially Rockybru, APANAMA2020, Bigdogdotcom and not forgetting former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad are all happy with Sime Darby’s decision.

Who are the unhappy ones? Let’s find out.

TheStar, NST, Utusan Melayu and the mainstream bloggers should do exclusive interviews with Sime Darby Chairman Tun Musa Hitam and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zubir Murshid about the “failed” takeover bid of IJN.

We should hear stories from both sides, shouldn’t we?

Kampusnegara.net

I have to say I was surprised that my article Janji Anwar Ibrahim – 100 hari was posted up at Kampusnegara.net HERE.

To the criticism by a reader at Kampusnegara.net who said that UMNO and BN used dirty tactics to foil the Sept 16th “A NEW DAWN” Government, please do not forget that on the 15th, Anwar assured the people that 916 was on course.

No arrests of BN MPs were carried out. No threats were reported by both BN MPs and Pakatan Rakyat.

If anyone were to carry out a conspiracy or threat on 32 BN MPs, imagine the amount of conspirators needed to sustain such a plan. Will there not be any leak? A confession on such top level conspiracy will surely bring great benefits to that person.

Ask Tian Chua. He gave a new date after the failed 916. Ask him what happened.

Ask the man himself, Anwar Ibrahim. Ask the PAS leader who said that he had the list too and have shown it to his team.

I was asked a question, what is the difference between 100 days (Anwar’s bluff on 916) and 52 years (BN)?

My answer is simple. One is not even the Government yet and has started lying.

ADUN Bercham

Having criticised Anwar Ibrahim and Pakatan Rakyat, I have to admit that not all leaders are like that.

When MCA was holding the seat of ADUN Bercham, the padang near my house was a sore sight. The grass was always long and I once told my mom that we have a secondary forest in our housing area.

My mom once rang the office of the previous ADUN Bercham and complained about it. The response was “oh if you all don’t tell YB, YB won’t know”.

Such a reply was indeed sad to hear, according to mom. When she was working for former YB Datuk Tan Chai Ho many years ago, she noticed that he will make sure his staff goes for rounds and monitor his constituency.

If Datuk Tan could do that when he was in office, why can’t other MCA YBs?

The new ADUN Bercham YB Sum Cheok Leng must be doing a good job with the City Council. Not only the field at my housing area is well maintained, even complains lodged with YB Sum are promptly looked into.

If you ask me for an honest verdict of ADUN Bercham in the next General Elections, I will say it is going to be tough for Barisan Nasional.

Sime Darby might not get IJN,but they've got the greenlight to proceed with another project, the proposed new airport.
