MCA - Agenda for Change (Part 3)

A PIECE OF MY MIND will dedicate the month long period to MCA's crisis and lay the foundations for thoughts when the time to decide comes.

This will be Part Three - The Political Cost of PKFZ transparency

A man who is at the peak of his career as Minister and President of the largest Chinese based organization in Malaysia, will he stir the hornet's nest by going transparent and open if he knows that the bees will sting him in the end which might spell the end of his career ?

Only a senile man will do so and definitely not the President of MCA. Read this good article : Tough times call for tough measures

Since the very beginning, the Malaysian Chinese Association President Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat held on firmly to his pledge that the Ministry of Transport will come clean, open and transparent in the case of PKA - PKFZ project.

Never once was anything hidden or shrouded in secrecy. Never once was there any attempts to sweep the case under the carpet. Never once was there any procedures to seal and close the case under the Official Secrets Act.

It is indeed a big political cost now. Many toes were stepped on in the PKFZ expose and this has been exploited in a move to remove Tee Keat.

Tee Keat also failed to check that many MCA members and leaders merely sat at the sidelines - watching Tee Keat going "all in" alone.

No one in MCA stated their stand on the PKFZ issue. Ask those who are in the headlines today that claim they are out to save MCA.

Ask people like Dr Chua, members of the Central Delegates EGM Action Committee, Save MCA Movement etc.

  • What is your stand on the PKFZ matter ?
  • Will MCA - who holds the Transport Ministry portfolio in Barisan Nasional - continue to be transparent and accountable in the PKFZ issue ?
  • Has Tee Keat not laid the foundations of good governance, accountability and integrity ?
  • What have you done for the Party when the institution was accused by the people and by fellow BN members for having a hand in the PKFZ scandal ?
  • Over the past few months when MCA battled for their image and reforms, everyone kept quiet and some continue to ridicule the efforts of Tee Keat instead of pushing the message of reforms. Why suddenly now many found their voices ?

These are asked because as a Malaysian in the new political age and philosophy, reading RPK's latest article - The Inconvenient Truth About Why Chua Soi Lek Was Sacked - is making many worried.

Regardless of the credibility of that article - which Dr Chua Soi Lek's camp have yet to response to - we all must consider the path MCA wants to walk down.

Are we for short term gains or long term success ?

My say ? Tee Keat has done no wrong as Minister of Transport - representing MCA in the Cabinet.

Only Tee Keat stood up and corrected the wrong, tell the wrong and fought to redeem the Malaysian Chinese Association not only in the Coalition but also in the eyes of the people.

This is what we call - CHANGE.

According to PKA chairman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng, the decision to post the appendices on the website is in line with Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat’s stance on transparency and accountability. MCA president: Duo trying to divert people’s attention from issue
“If indeed I have received pecuniary and financial benefits for myself or the party, there will be more reasons for me to protect the interests of the givers, as opposed to proceeding to expose their misdeeds.

By doing so, I am risking my personal and family safety as well as my own credibility,” Ong, who is MCA president, wrote in his blog www.ongteekeat.net.

Datuk Seri Tan Chai Ho, main coordinator of the campaign to vote out Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat as president.said that he is devout Buddhist but he is supporting an adulterer and a mother of all liars. HE IS A DISGRACE TO THE BUDDHIST AND SHOULD STOP USING BUDDHISM TO CARRY OUT HIS EVIL DEEDS..........

CSL supporters said the fact is he was elected, resigned, and re-elected through the assembly. The voice of the grassroots has spoken, loud and clear! That's what democracy is all about.' SO HE IS ABOVE THE LAW???.........YOU GUYS WANT TO MAKE HIM AN EMPEROR???......WHAT ABOUT THE GRASSROOTS VOICE WHO PUT OTK AS THE PRESIDENT???..........

That 921 delegates does a shameless acts to MCA, where is your dignity to support a disgrace adulterer, WHERE IS YOUR CONFUCIUS ETHICS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF PRACTICAL MORAL VALUES. YOU GUYS ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE CHINESE COMMUNITY AND STOP USING THE CHINESE FOR YOUR CAUSE, WE DO NOT WANT TO BE THE LAUGHING STOCKS TO HAVE PEOPLE WHO CARRY DEPLORABLE MORALITY TAG TO REPRESENT THE CHINESE COMMUNITY. KUALA LUMPUR - The prime minister has reminded all BN component party leaders that it was pointless for them to be popular only among party members if they are not popular among the people.
Najib Abdul Razak, who is the BN chairman, said in a parliamentary democracy, the people had the absolute power and it was they who determined the BN's fate in every election.
"Whether we are leaders of Umno, MCA, MIC or other BN component parties... we should ask ourselves whether we are popular among the people and not just among party members.
"If we are popular among party members, we can win party posts, but whether our party is relevant or not, it depends on our ability to win the hearts of the people to support the BN," he said when opening the 63rd MIC Annual General Assembly at the Dewan Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre here Saturday.

It is for this reason that Umno, MCA, MIC and other BN component parties should remember to see things from this perspective, for if we forget, we will be punished by people during elections," he said

IF MCA CHOSE THE ADULTERER TO LEAD, YOU WILL NOT GET THE CHINESE SUPPORT THATS FOR SURE. WHAT KPI CSL CAN OFFER ARE HOW MANY ROUND HE IS ABLE PREFORMS.......

What CSL supporters promoting is NOT a save MCA campaign, but Toppling the MCA President campaign to protect their own interest, thats is the message the society get.

The risk is very high that MCA will be doomed and make irrelevant if those selfish people success in their aims, on the other hand to support the President courageous and painful but necessary reforms, is building to strengthen MCA, surely stand a better chances to bring glorious day back to MCA. And yet those selfish people spent a lot of money, time and vigorous effort to take the high risk path of destroying MCA, if that is not personal interest then what is it???

MCA people must understand that the time is already over that they can throw their nuisance for the public to swallow. Najib have rightly put it, the people call the shot.......So what you wise MCA guys can offer, CSL as MCA president ???.......

Those, CSL supporters must agree with me that ultimately the public will have the last say, if you people really have MCA at heart, you people should do the RIGHT THING, weight the probability who can better lead you to success. Take the trouble to go to the ground to gather statistics what the public want, CSL or OTK. That will be productive effort, best still call for a referendum among the Chinese Community who they prefer as MCA President, CSL or OTK. That will definitely strengthen MCA instead weakening MCA with your rubbishes.

Today while in the market I met Jeff Ooi with his DAP people distributing bags to the community and I have seen him many time in the various markers. IN CONTRAST MCA POPLE ARE VERY BUSY TRYING VERY HARD TO TOPPLE A CAPABLE PRESIDENT TO WEAKEN THEIR PILLAR .........
