This post will take a snipe at the news reports of Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, the newly appointed Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry.
I am calling upon all bloggers, the mainstream media as well as alternative media to clarify the accuracy of their reports.
This is error of the highest level especially in the mainstream media.
Initial reports in The Star showed that Datuk Mukhriz graduated from a Bulgarian University. Subsequently, this was followed by quoted reports in The Nut Graph as well as The Edge Malaysia.
Most of the mainstream media have posted corrections. The Edge Malaysia has yet to do so at time of publish of this post although I understand they were quoted from BERNAMA (corrected).
Dato' Mukhriz Mahathir studied Business Administration at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan and graduated with a degree in Marketing from Boston University, Massachussetts, U.S.A. in 1989.
I hope errors like this do not get mixed up and clarifications are done beforehand. Accuracies and professionalism are important elements especially among the mainstream media.
For more accurate details of Datuk Mukhriz, please refer to Perdana Global Peace - Mukhriz Mahathir.
Sincerely,
Goh Wei Liang

ReplyDeleteA Neat Cabinet - Razaleigh
http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v5/news_lite.php?id=403295
GUA MUSANG, April 10 (Bernama) -- Gua Musang Member of Parliament Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has hailed the new cabinet, describing it as "neat" and capable of restoring the people's confidence in the Barisan Nasional (BN).
He said that changes were inevitable if the BN was to win the hearts and minds of the people.
"The previous cabinet is not that neat. We shall see how the new cabinet performs... I truly hope that the new leadership will be able to change things for the better," he said.
He was speaking at the opening of the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tengku Indera Petra 2 Parent-Teacher's Association annual general meeting today.
Tengku Razaleigh said the new cabinet would be able to strengthen the country's economy despite the current global economic downturn.
The new leadership should be given the opportunity to bring changes, said Tengku Razaleigh, who once offered to contest the Umno presidency but could only manage one nomination -- from the Gua Musang Umno division.

ReplyDeleteeveryone seems so preoccupied with wo is right or who is wrong now.
ReplyDeleteLet's look at another thing shall we,
would most of you here agree Malaysia can still achieve its vision of 2020? I for one think it is a grand plan which we'll have to strive for it nevertheless. Consensus are, many think it is pretty impossible now that we only have less than 12 years to make it.
http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/23011-daim-to-make-comeback
just like how BN bloggers lambast LGE and vowed to crucify him if he fails to achieve the intended FDI target (which I think he is bluffing anyway and planned on blaming it all on the financial crisis), but difference is BN when they couldn't achieve the vision 2020 and blame it on everything but themselves? Aren't they the same?
@anti-hypocrite
ReplyDeleteSeems Ku Li never praised the cabinet:

You have ignored the need for due diligence when taking into account our news reporting.
@Jimmy Tham
Vision 2020 was and is unachievable, simply because the goalposts were never clear in the first place.
