Jangan Fitnah Dr Mahathir

What was Dr Mahathir's actual words and speech on January 18th, 1993 in the Parliament of Malaysia? Some bloggers are highlighting the misleading parts of the speech, that came right on after the Sultan Johor-Gomez incident.

As far as I remember from the stories I heard, the people fully supported Dr Mahathir on this, including DAP and of course the King of Hypocrites - Anwar Ibrahim.

Let me highlight parts of what Dr M said and I quote:

Tuan Yang di-Pertua, Saya mohon mencadangkan.

Dr Mahathir proposed the amendments to the Constitution which was passed and supported in Parliament by the MPs.

Lim Guan Eng and the pro Pakatan Rakyat bloggers got it all wrong. It was not Dr Mahathir who removed the immunity of the Malay Sultanate.

It was the Parliament of Malaysia with the approval of the people (including Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) in one voice which removed the immunity of the Malay Sultanate from criminal prosecutions.

This is totally different with the Constitutional process of a Constitutional Monarchy providing royal consent for the dissolution of the State Assembly or the formation of a State Government.

Nizar seeked the consent of Sultan Azlan Shah to dissolve the Perak Assembly. As Sultan of Perak, Tuanku declined the request to provide the Royal consent.

(If this is questioned, is there any difference if we say "TUANKU WAS FORCED TO PROVIDE THE CONSENT" ?)

Raja Adil Raja Disembah (Read this to understand what actually happened in Perak)

Tuanku did not give consent to Barisan Nasional or UMNO to form the State Government in March 2008, neither did Tuanku in February 2009 until all 31 ADUNs gave the majority support to BN to form the new State Government.

The same happened in March 2008 in favour of Pakatan Rakyat (a party formed as a marriage of convenience).

When decisions are not in favour of Pakatan Rakyat, Ketuanan Rakyat comes into play (like the incident in Kuala Kangsar).

This is the politics of Anwar Ibrahim - a brand new modern politics which we have never seen from the Opposition till the hypocrite came into the picture.

Anwar : It’s good for our royalty

SINTOK, Fri. - The decision to amend the constitution in relation to the Rulers’ immunity is aimed at protecting the Royal institutions and uphold the Rulers’ sovereignty, Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today. He stressed that the royal institutions would remain because the people had confidence in the constitutional monarchy system. - NST (9 January 1993)

Anwar Ibrahim should stay out of the Malaysian politics.
