Vision 2020 was meant to be a fantasy!...Wei Liang,

Vision 2020 was meant to be a fantasy! Bangsa Malaysia indeed! If you believe that, you are on Fantasy Island. Then we cannot believe you either.

TDM's recent outbursts show that his unsolicited "advice" are just to serve his cronies who are still raking in billions of ringgits. Aren't they still collecting exhorbitant highway tolls long after the costs of building the highways were recouped? Etc, etc, etc. Correct, correct, correct!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29507030.post-6614536625330022222010-09-16T21:09:43.173+08:002010-09-16T21:09:43.173+08:00Your comments placing the blame on the failure to ...Your comments placing the blame on the failure to achieve Vision 2020 on the AAB administration is inaccurate and too simplistic.

There are many many more reasons why we will be unable to meet the targets laid out in Vision 2020.

For example,Dr. M himself admitted he did not foresee the 1997 Asian economic crisis, and it was this crisis that brought Malaysia's development and progress to its knees.

But of course, then, there was still ample time to re-strategize. But instead, Dr. M decided to 'close off' Malaysia to outside investors whom he blamed as the perpetrators of the financial crisis. This started the stagnation of Malaysia's economy as investors decided then to turn to neighbours Thailand and Indonesia (despite these countries being higher risk than Malaysia).

But as these two countries reformed and stabilized, they became even more attractive to investors and today they are the preferred investment destination.

This is but one of the contributor to Malaysia's problems.

Malaysia's ruin cannot be traced to a few simple convenient root causes (such as blaming AAB). Malaysia's malaise is the result of multiple failures in the policies and its execution by the government and its administration over a period of more than a decade.katdognoreply@blogger.com
